All pupils following examination courses will usually be entered for the examination. In a few circumstances this may not be appropriate, e.g. if, in the school's view, it is in the interest of the pupil to reduce his/her work load.
On rare occasions a pupil may miss an examination without good reason or fail to submit course work required by the examination board. As the fee will have already been paid, the school will seek to reclaim the amount from the pupil.
Three examination boards are used:
OCR – Oxford, Cambridge and RSA
AQA – Assessment and Qualifications Alliance
